Santry Track Events
On the morning of 29th May 2017 we made our way to Morton’s Stadium, Santry to participate in the 85th Cumann na Mbunscol Athletics Championships. We chatted excitedly as we had been preparing for sprints and relay for over a month.
When we arrived we joined all the other schools on the track for the parade. We marched with our banner held high and proudly sang our National Anthem. The sprints commenced soon after the parade. Eoin O’ Duffy earned a place in the final. Kola Bamidele received a bronze medal in the Under 14 final.
Finally, it was the moment we had all been waiting nervously for, the relays. All 8 teams performed well and the Under 12 boys and girls got into the finals. Unfortunately they were unlucky. The Under 14 boys team narrowly missed out on gold in a very nerve wracking final. They were however delighted with their silver medals. It was a great day overall.
