Garden Spring update

Lots more progress has been made in the school garden last week.

Our stepping stones arrived and are now in place on the flower beds. We can now work on weeding and planting, without getting our feet too muddy or compacting the soil.

Patrick Hunt, Heritage Expert on the Heritage in Schools Scheme, Heritage Council returned to work with students on Thursday March 16th. The 5th and 6th class students planted herbs, raspberries and a fig tree.

Seeds have been purchased for Junior Infants -2nd class and these classes will begin planting soon. They will be planting lettuce, cabbage, radish, peas, beans and potatoes.

Our pond has now been cleared and we will hopefully get some frog spawn for it soon.We are also waiting on delivery of some more bark and working on making a new scarecrow.
